To:
President Barack Obama

March 1, 2010

We are a proud nation and we welcome all people no matter of their faith or beliefs. BUT WE ARE A NATION FOUNDED UNDER GOD! Since you were elected to represent ALL of our citizens, you need to at least speak for the MAJORITY.

President Barack Obama said in Turkey:

"We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation

Or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation.

We consider ourselves a nation of citizens

Who are bound by ideals and a set of values."

I found this very interesting...Do you know the preamble for your state?

American History Quotes About God and the Bible

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. Psalm 33:12

Famous American History Quotes About God and the Bible

America has always been one nation under God. Unfortunately, some are trying to rewrite American history and our laws and contradict our Christian nation, removing God's blessing. Christians are the largest group in America (80%) and our nation's source of unity. Below are some of the thousands of quotes endorsing God in government by our founding fathers and others in American history. We hope these famous inspirational quotes on God and American government encourage you to know the truth of American history.

The truth is America has always believed: in God we trust. And today, we declare America is a Christian nation - One Nation under God. American children prayed and read the Bible in schools for hundreds of years from the colonies until recently, Congress appropriated money to buy Bibles for America and support Christian missionaries, the third verse of our national anthem says, "And this be our motto, 'In God is our trust'"

After seeing the faith in God and government endorsement of
Christianity in America below, look at these two links:

Tiger Woods Speaks Out - Forgiveness and Moving Forward!

Video Link Golf Channel: “Tiger Woods Press Conference - Tiger's Public Statement"

Tiger Woods ended nearly three months of silence Friday, when he spoke publicly for the first time since his middle-of-the-night car accident sparked stunning revelations of infidelity. Hear Woods' full statement now.

Official Tiger Woods Website:"Tiger Woods Press Conference - Tiger's Public Statement"

Tiger Woods speaks out, the most celebrated golfer on earth will speak to his fans and foes alike. I would like to express my support for Tiger Woods, not for his transgressions, but just for being a human being that has a god given talent as a golfer. Here's a quote by Lance Morrow, that I feel expresses forgiveness and moving forward with his, as well as everyone concerned or involved with Tiger Woods life!

"Not to forgive is to be imprisoned by the past, by old grievances that do not permit life to proceed with new business. Not to forgive is to yield oneself to another's control... to be locked into a sequence of act and response, of outrage and revenge, tit for tat, escalating always. The present is endlessly overwhelmed and devoured by the past. Forgiveness frees the forgiver. It extracts the forgiver from someone else's nightmare." - Lance Morrow

Tiger's Mom "So Proud"...Really?

At the end of his scripted statement today, a teary Tiger Woods made a point of immediately going over to his mom for a hug, and Kutilda Woods whispered something in his ear.

"I said 'I'm so proud of you. Never think you stand alone. Mom will always be there for you and I love you,'" Kutilda, who sported a noticeably pained expression on her face during the telecast, told reporters afterward.

At least she was talking. In Sweden, Elin Nordegren's parental units were far from forthcoming.

Elin's mom, Barbro Holmberg, who was by her daughter's side in the days following the Thanksgiving Day blow-up, declined to comment; her father, Thomas Nordegren, told reporters he watched Tiger's confessional but had "nothing to say" right now.

Guess they're not as proud of their son-in-law, eh?

"We the People are as Mad as Hell: Are we becoming a Banana Republic?"
by The Funbobbasso's Channel

"If the lefties/liberals/progressives don't tap into the people's anger, the right-wing tea baggers will...and are.

But the tone, the anger will get more support - more than the tepid response of the "hopers." Meanwhile, the past and current Obama supporters are still "hoping" while the tea baggers are calling for action.

Watch the video: "We the People Stimulus Package"

I'm so fed up with the system of government here. I'm furious about the Supreme Court giving equal First Amendment rights to corporate America. Going forward corporate America can spend millions…billions…to lobby the thieves and vagabonds in congress and the senate. Forget fair elections. The wealthiest will win.

So far I have refrained from posting my disappointments in the Republican Party everyday just for my own peace of mind. But the pile is too deep now and I so disgusted that some venting needs to be done on a big scale.

Instead of voting "no" on everything, which keeps others from progressing, why don´t the Republicans just opt out of Medicare, Social Security and science-based drugs and electronics.

While Republican businessmen complain about green energy alternatives, the Chinese are out getting control of the rare earth metals used in all of them.

As a young man I chose between candidates based on three things, namely the issues, my political philosophy, and the qualifications of the individuals. Now this is impossible because the Republicans have fallen into the hands of pathological liars.

As a last resort Obama´s critics find something wrong with his scheduling of the Copenhagen visit. Turns out he chose that time because the Chinese were going to be there at that time.

Is it something new that the Deep South is so heartless?

The man who fixed my hot water heater, obviously reflecting local conservative views, incorrectly lambasted Obama´s health plan for cutting social security. Lacking either a retirement or health insurance, he is looking forward to Medicare to get two detached retinas fixed. Is he being consistent?

The Republicans are good at exploiting some people´s religious superstitions and fears of big government.

I think the Blue states should secede from the Union if the Red states continue to block social progress and to teach creationism instead of science. They are holding us back at least 100 years.

I turned on one news station after another trying in vain to get an update on the status of the health bill in the Senate. Instead, I heard endless interviews with opposing Republicans. Where´s a Democrat to get news these days?

The working poor, who obviously greatly outnumber the wealthy, could dominate American politics if half of them did not vote against their own financial self interests for reasons of religion. All the wealthy have to do is toss the religious poor a bone and they vote along with them, and it is a small bone at that. What have the Republicans ever done for the working poor except manipulate them?

Somewhere along the way the Republicans abandoned honesty in their statements and commercials.

It makes perfect sense for the wealthy individuals and corporations to dominate one of the political parties, currently the Republican Party. But why do the commoners join them?

The news media tries to make everything a debate, even evolution and the climate threat, both of which have solid scientific foundations and are beyond debate."

Valentine's Day - One Heart - Celine Dion

WILL YOU PLEASE BE MY VALENTINE?

Remember when a Valentine
Was just a name that you just drew
And you could give that Paper Heart
To someone you barely knew.

Or you maybe gave your Heart
To everybody in your Class
Drawn and cut, with Your Words
That were so much Fun to pass.

And too, those little Candy Hearts
That you used to pass around
Searching Colors and the Words
Until that Perfect One was found.

And remember that Special One
Who made your Heart skip a beat
Who you gave that Special Card
Who gave your Heart a Special Treat.

And remember how easy it was
To tell a Classmate, "I Love You!"
Not just three meaningless words
Cause everyone knew they were True.

Oh, for those Days of Innocence
When everything seemed to be Just Fine
And you werent afraid to ask aloud,
"Will you please be my Valentine?"

Lyrics to
My Heart Will Go On

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know you go on

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you are here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we are gone

Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life well always go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you are here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

You are here, there as nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
Well stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Happy Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day Texas Style

Valentine’s Day is a special day set aside to honor “love”, a time to celebrate “romantic love”. So as the 14th of February approaches, we plan to find that right card, order those flowers, choose an item of jewelry, or make reservations for that special candlelit dinner in one of Vallarta’s most romantic spots. Yet few stop and ponder why this date is singled out, or just who this Valentine fellow was, and why he should have a day named after him.

545 PEOPLE by Charlie Reese and COMMON SENSE by Thomas Paine

545 vs 300,000,000
EVERY CITIZEN NEEDS TO READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS JOURNALIST HAS SCRIPTED IN THIS MESSAGE. READ IT AND THEN REALLY THINK ABOUT OUR CURRENT POLITICAL DEBACLE. Congress.org - Get informed, get involved today!

Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years.

545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason.. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-pickingthing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red ..

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems..

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

This might be funny if it weren't so darned true.
Be sure to read all the way to the end:

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts
Anyway!
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.
Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax us.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

Put these words
Upon his tomb,
Taxes drove me
to my doom...'

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply

The Elvis Presley Birthday Celebration

FAST FACTS:
75th - Elvis Presley - Memories

Fans from all over the globe brave temps in the teens to mark Elvis Presley's 75th Birthday
Lisa Marie, Priscilla and 2 of Elvis' grandchildren made an appearance Friday at Graceland
Mother & daughter thanks fans for showing up on such a cold winter day

(Memphis-1/8/10) Despite temperatures in the teens, Elvis Presley fans from all over the globe came to Graceland Friday to celebrate his 75th birthday.

This year 3 generations of Presley's were also there to mark the occasion.

Elvis Presley's grand children, Riley and Benjamin helped cut his 75th birthday cake. Their mother Lisa Marie also made a rare appearance at Graceland, along side Priscilla. Both thanked fans for showing up in some less than ideal conditions.

"I don't think I've been here when it's been this cold and see all of you celebrate really touches all of our hearts," said Priscilla Presley

"Once again thank for waiting for staying. It's freezing. We love you so much," said Lisa Marie Presley.

Kathy and Steve Curtis have been coming to Graceland twice a year since 1980 and were even married at the Blue Sued Chapel. The Dallas couple didn't want to miss the party this year.

"You know if you are an Elvis fan it doesn't matter what the degrees are because we are burning love inside," said Kathy Curtis.

Martha Dubois traveled from Belgium with 67 other Elvis fans. Dubois has already met Priscilla's and was hoping to get near Lisa Marie. She says she wouldn't want to be anywhere else on this day.

"You do it once in your life when its 75 years," said Dubois.

And even a broken wrist couldn't keep one Brit from traveling all the way from London to Memphis for Elvis' 75th.

"The doctors told me I couldn't fly and I said I got to get to Graceland for Elvis' birthday and they took the cast off and just gave me a splint, but it was worth it," said Jones.

Most thought it would be warmer in Memphis, but say who cares about the cold when you come to Graceland.

"I'm so happy we could be here today and we'll see you soon. Thank you," said Lisa Marie.

The cake for the part was created by a West Memphis Bakery and selected by thousands of Elvis fans online.

Words Lyrics
by Lyrics

Smile an everlasting smile
A smile could bring you near to me
Don't ever let me find you're gone
'Cause that could bring a tear to me

This world has lost its glory
Let's start a brand new story now, my love

Right now there'll be no other time
And I can show you all my love

Talk in everlasting words
And dedicate them all to me
And I will give you all my life
I'm here if you should call to me

You think that I don't even mean
A single word I say

It's only words and words are all I have
To take your heart away

You think that I don't even mean
A single word I say

It's only words and words are all I have
To steal your heart away
It's only words and words are all I have
To steal your heart away
It's only words and words are all I have
To steal your heart away, heart away, ya baby

Frank Sinatra Blue Moon "Happy New Year"

Blue Moon on New Year's Eve

For the first time in over a decade, New Year's Eve revelry, from early- evening snowshoe hikes to midnight fireworks, will take place by the light of a blue moon.

Savor the moment, astronomers say, because the phenomenon in which two full moons occur in the same month won't happen again in December until 2028.

"I encourage people to look up, enjoy the sight and think about all the interesting things that have happened" over the past decade, said Robert Stencel, professor of astronomy at the University of Denver, where public astronomy events are often held at the Chamberlin Observatory. "And be happy that we're still here to observe it."

I've heard the expression "once in a blue moon" all my life, and knew it was referring to "a long time", but I never thought about the term's origin. Today, my 90 year old father-in-law asked me if I knew what made a moon a "blue moon". I didn't know, and since we start the new year off in a "blue moon", I did some research. Interesting...very interesting.

According to the popular definition, it is the second Full Moon to occur in a single calendar month.

The average interval between Full Moons is about 29.5 days, whilst the length of an average month is roughly 30.5 days. This makes it very unlikely that any given month will contain two Full Moons, though it does sometimes happen.

On average, there will be 41 months that have two Full Moons in every century, so you could say that once in a Blue Moon actually means once every two-and-a-half years.

Blue Moon on New Year's Eve

For the first time in almost twenty years, there's going to be a Blue Moon on New Year's Eve.

Most months have only one full Moon. The 29.5-day cadence of the lunar cycle matches up almost perfectly with the 28- to 31-day length of calendar months. Indeed, the word "month" comes from "Moon." Occasionally, however, the one-to-one correspondence breaks down when two full Moons squeeze into a single month. Dec. 2009 is such a month. The first full Moon appeared on Dec. 2nd; the second, a "Blue Moon," will come on Dec. 31st.

This definition of Blue Moon is relatively new.

If you told a person in Shakespeare's day that something happens "once in a Blue Moon" they would attach no astronomical meaning to the statement. Blue moon simply meant rare or absurd, like making a date for the Twelfth of Never. "But meaning is a slippery substance," says Hiscock. "The phrase 'Blue Moon' has been around for more than 400 years, and during that time its meaning has shifted."

The modern definition sprang up in the 1940s. In those days, the Farmer's Almanac of Maine offered a definition of Blue Moon so convoluted that even professional astronomers struggled to understand it. It involved factors such as the ecclesiastical dates of Easter and Lent, and the timing of seasons according to the dynamical mean sun. Aiming to explain blue moons to the layman, Sky & Telescope published an article in 1946 entitled "Once in a Blue Moon." The author James Hugh Pruett cited the 1937 Maine almanac and opined that the "second [full moon] in a month, so I interpret it, is called Blue Moon."

That was not correct, but at least it could be understood. And thus the modern Blue Moon was born.

Ricky Nelson Remembered 2010 Tour Schedule

Their songs transcend time. Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, revered for unforgettable past hits, explore fresh creative territory in the present. Magically melodic songwriting and soaring sibling harmonies ensure that this pair will be a vital part of the music scene’s future.

Their famed blond locks have been shortened, but their appeal is proving greater than ever. The twin sons of rock ‘n’ roll icon Rick Nelson had spent the past six years honing their sound in Nashville, woodshedding with some of Music City USA’s best lyricists, and adding what they’ve learned to their own mastery of contemporary pop melody.

The resultant material is mature, yet youthfully exuberant. It meshes the power pop that launched them to multi-platinum status, the country rock their father pioneered, and a boldly modern touch that has always been at the forefront of popular music’s appeal. It’s majestic arena groove-rock for the 21st century.

Due to unending requests, they’ve worked some Rick Nelson classics into their set. They perform them with respect and enthusiasm. “We figured it’s up to us to help keep his music alive,” Gunnar says. “Not only is it a true pleasure to play these great songs that people love, but it makes us feel profoundly closer to our best friend -- our father.”

RICKY NELSON REMEMBERED

Ozzie Nelson realized that whenever he had Ricky sing on their show The Adventures Of Ozzie And Harriet, Ricky's record sales shot up the next day. So Ozzie tried to work it into the plot whenever Ricky had a new record out. As Ricky became popular and the demand for his songs was overwhelming, Ozzie realized that working his singing into the plot was going to be impossible, so Ozzie filmed Ricky singing "Travelin' Man," superimposed some travelogue scenes over the film and tacked it onto a show episode at the end. Viola! The music video was born.

"Travelin' Man" was written by Jerry Fuller. There was a park close to where his wife worked, and everyday when he went to pick her up he'd take his guitar, sit in the park and write songs while he waited for her. He'd been thinking about writing a song about a man who traveled all over the world and one day took a World Atlas along with him to go over the countries in it. The song was written in about 20 minutes. And, yes, it was first offered to Sam Cooke's manager but he turned it down. Rick's bass player, Joe Osborne, had been in the next room of the record company and heard it. He asked Cooke's manager if he could hear it again, and the man said: "Here, you can have it." It was one of Rick's biggest hits and stayed on the Charts for 4 months.

I'm a travelin' man
And I've made a lot of stops all over the world
And in every port I own the heart
Of at least one lovely girl

I've a pretty Seniorita waitin' for me
Down in old Mexico
If you're ever in Alaska stop and see
My cute little Eskimo

Oh my sweet Fraulien down in Berlin town
Makes my heart start to yearn
And my China doll down in old Hong Kong
Waits for my return

Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea
I remember the night
When we walked in the sands of Waikiki
And I held you oh so tight

Oh my sweet Fraulien down in Berlin town
Makes my heart start to yearn
And my China doll down in old Hong Kong
Waits for my return

Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea
I remember the night
When we walked in the sands of Waikiki
And I held you oh so tight

Oh, I'm a travelin' man
Yes, I'm a travelin' man
Oh, I'm a travelin' man
Mmmmm....

RICKY NELSON REMEMBERED

In any event, Gunnar and Matthew are currently on tour with the RICKY NELSON REMEMBERED show - a multimedia tribute show featuring live renditions of Ricks hits, as well as never before seen footage of the Nelson family with interviews from celebrities influenced by Ricky Nelson. The show appeals to a wide audience and multiple generations and 2010 will mark the 25th anniversary of Rick Nelson's passing with that tragic New Year's Eve plane crash.

Rick Nelson was born Eric Hilliard Nelson in 1940. He died in a small plane crash in Texas in 1985 while flying to a New Year's Eve concert. Mechanical problems and a cabin fire were suspected as the cause of the crash. Speculation that the fire was caused by someone on board freebasing cocaine was never proven, though aerosol cans were found at the crash site. The Nelson family said that the cans were part of the makeup box and that no drugs were involved. The matter was never completely resolved.

S.A.F.E. Energy Fencing System

S.A.F.E. Fencing System

This unique invention combines the functionality of a perimeter fencing system with a unique solar panel system built right into the fence’s upper shell. As the sun rises and sets, the solar panels in the fence collect the sun’s rays and transforms them into free, clean, renewable energy which is then inverted into the electric meter of the home or office building. This system reduces the electric bill and helps eliminate the public’s dependence on carbon based fuels.

A fence that protects your property, the environment, and your wallet!

New Jersey – EarthSure, a renewable energy company and innovator in alternative energy sources announces the latest patent-pending renewable energy invention. Solar Alternative Functioning Energy (S.A.F.E.) Fencing System, is an earth-friendly fencing configuration made out of recycled PVC that not only protects the owner’s property, it also collects the sun’s rays and transforms them into renewable energy!

This unique invention combines the functionality of a perimeter fencing system with a unique solar panel system built inside to conceal the inner walls of the fence. As the sun rises, the sunlight is collected by a series of optical lenses that transmit the light to solar panels which is then transformed into free, clean, renewable energy. This is then inverted into the electric meter of the home, office, or commercial building. This system reduces the electric bill and helps eliminate the public’s dependence on carbon based fuels.

Manufacturers of the S.A.F.E. fence say that the cost of the fence and installation in time will pay for itself. It is the only fence of its kind to offer a return on investment by saving money on the owner’s electric bill. As an added bonus, the purchase and installation can be subsidized by the government anywhere from 30% and up to 50% in some states. Solar energy users can also receive RECs (renewable energy credits) based on how much energy it produces at that location.

Another benefit of the system is that, unlike bulky and unsightly solar panels, this solar energy fencing system is an attractive unit, one that adds beauty and protection to the property, all while reducing our carbon footprint by creating clean, green energy. Earthsure predicts that with all of the benefits of this new fencing system including the look and functionality as well as the earth-saving benefits will convince the public to protect their property and the world with S.A.F.E. Fencing System.

Support Tiger Woods

By Tiger Woods: Comments On Current Events

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Woods Apologizes and Gets Support

...let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone...
John 8:7

I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me. Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord when was it that we did these things for you?' And the king will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.
Matthew 25: 35-45

"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to reap that which is planted.
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to to mourn, and a time to dance.
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.
A time to get and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."
Ecclesiastes 3: 1

The True Meaning of Christmas

"The Real Truth About Santa Claus"

Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus!

A famous letter from Virgina O'Hanlon to the editorial of The New York Sun, first printed in 1897.

We take pleasure in answering thus prominently the communication below, expressing at the same time our great gratification that its faithful author is numbered among the friends of The Sun:

Dear Editor---

I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says, "If you see it in The Sun, it's so." Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?

Virginia O'Hanlon

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours, man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The external light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies. You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if you did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived could tear apart. Only faith, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Virginia, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives and lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay 10 times 10,000 years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?

Talking about Stephen King Under The Dome

Stephen King Under The Dome

In his on words, Stephen King's Under The Dome

Under the Dome
By Stephen King

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when -- or if -- it will go away.

Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens -- town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician's assistant at the hospital, a select-woman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing -- even murder -- to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn't just short. It's running out.

Stephen King’s Under The Dome

Book trailers are an interesting recent development in marketing. The very concept doesn’t make a whole lot of sense at first, seeing as books don’t actually have visual scenes to make a trailer out of, but done properly, they can be pretty effective tools for creating buzz around a new novel. And sometimes, they can be pretty cool. The trailer for Stephen King’s new book, Under The Dome, falls squarely into the “cool” category. The novel follows the inhabitants of a small town that is trapped in a huge, clear dome by unknown forces.

Some say King’s best years are behind him; I disagree. That’s not to say I enjoy every last one of his books – hell, the man’s written so many, there’s no way they could all be great. But when he’s on, he’s one of the best writers in modern horror (and sometimes science fiction). To me, it seems that he’s at his best when he gives himself room to breathe, page-wise. The Stand is brilliant; so is It. Both are over 1000 pages. The Dark Tower series, his masterpiece, unfolds over the course of seven increasingly long books. Under The Dome will be 1088 pages long; hopefully, that means we can expect the epic storytelling and surprisingly personal character development the author, at his best, is capable of.

Check out the trailer below; it’s short, but it got me kinda pumped for this book.
